Cabrios und Sportwagen waren in den 1980er-Jahren – die Firma SCHMIDT Felgen in Bag Segeberg ist 1985 von Volker SCHMIDT gegründet worden – gesuchte Exoten. Heute ist das Angebot demgegenüber fast schon verwirrend unüberschaubar. In diesen mehr als drei Jahrzehnten ist das Know-how der Felgenproduktion um so manche Erfahrung reicher geworden und auch die Technik hat sich ständig weiterentwickelt, unter anderem weil die heutigen Fahrzeuge ganz andere Anforderungen stellen.
Der „Proband“ ist diesmal ein BMW M4 mit der Werksbezeichnung F83. Dem vorzüglich designten Cabrio mit dem Bi-Turbo-Reihen-Sechszylinder und seinen drei Litern Hubraum werden von Hause aus schon weit mehr als 400 PS Leistung – nämlich genau 431 PS (= 317 kW) – sowie 500 Nm maximales Drehmoment entlockt. Das Team von SCHMIDT Revolution hat dem M4 eine wahrhaft gewaltige Rad-Reifen-Kombination verpasst: Mit RADINOX®-Außenbetten versehene dreiteilig verschraubte Schmidt FS-Line-Felgen der Dimension 10,5Jx20 mit Michelin Sport-Bereifung der Abmessung 265/30 R20 an der Vorderachse sowie 11,5Jx21 mit ebenso gewaltigen wie radhausfüllenden Reifen in 305/25 R21 an der Hinterachse. Der Einsatz der speziellen Außenringe aus RADINOX® verleihen der Felge einen ungewöhnlich hohen Glanz. RADINOX® ist zudem ein extrem harter und leichter Edelstahl!
Die Kombinationen passen übrigens ohne Karosseriearbeiten. Und der TÜV hat der Montage von 20- und 21-Zöllern in diesem speziellen Fall seinen Segen erteilt. Nebenbei bemerkt ist dieses Räderwerk auch mit der Keramikbremse passend.
Darüber hinaus hat man dem M4 diverse Carbonteile angedeihen lassen. Zusätzlich sorgen die verbauten Lowtec-Federn für den gewünschten Tiefgang. Und die Abgasanlage ab Kat mit EG-Betriebserlaubnis und Carbon-Endrohren von Friedrich Motorsport sorgt für die artgerechte „Kommunikation“ mit der Umgebung. BMW M4 with striking rims in 20” & 21” by SCHMIDT REVOLUTION
In 1985 Volker SCHMIDT established the rims specialized company SCHMIDT Felgen in Bad Segeberg. During the eighties, convertibles and sport cars were rare and a wanted exotic species. Quite the opposite is true today as the available choices are overwhelming and vast. After more than three decades the know-how about rim production gained considerable expertise. Even the field of engineering develops continuously and all that because today’s vehicles have different technical demands.
This time the “guinea pig” is a BMW M4 with the manufacturer designation F83. Beside its superb design, the original convertible comes with a mighty bi-turbo inline-6-cylinder engine, three liter cubic capacity and more than 400 PS. The manufacturer elicited exactly 432 PS (= 317 kW) out of the engine, as well as 500 Nm maximum of torque value. Well, the SCHMIDT Revolution team didn’t miss the opportunity and mounted a truly enormous wheel-tire-combination to the M4. The three-piece screwed Schmidt FS-Line rims with RADINOX® outer rim wells measure 10,5Jx20 with Michelin sport tires in 265/30 R20 on the front axle and 11,5Jx21 with both huge and wheel-house filling tires in 305/25 R21 on the rear axle. As made of RADINOX® these extraordinary outer rim wells bestow the rim with an exceptional high level of brilliance. In addition to that RADINOX® is an extreme rigid and light-weighted stainless steel!
The aforementioned combination fits without body work. And in this particular case, the TÜV already approved the installation of the 20” and 21” rims. Incidentally, a ceramic brake system would apply as well.
Another excellent upgrade of the M4 are the diverse carbon parts. The built-in Lowtec springs provides the desired lowering of the vehicle. The exhaust system ex catalytic with an EG operating permit, as well as the carbon end pipes by Friedrich Motorsport make sure to get a certain attention by the surroundings. The ultimate culmination is the matte vinyl wrapping in Daytona Grey. This M4 awakes an irrepressible urge to get on the road right away…
