Der X4 (F26) begeistert schon nach den ersten Metern. Denn seine beeindruckende Performance und sein äusserst dynamisches Fahrverhalten sind auf hohe Leistung ausgelegt. Dies inbesonders in der Top-Version als M40i, mit dem gleichen Motor, wie er im neuen M2 Coupé (N55) einen hervor- ragenden Dienst verrichtet. Die (Ausgangs-)Basis ist also gut! Dähler Design & Technik GmbH aus Belp bei Bern in der Schweiz macht sie noch besser, kraftvoller und harmonischer.
Die Motivation von Christoph Dähler ist es, dem X4 M40i als Krönung noch «das gewisse Etwas», das «i-Tüpfelchen» (i = individualisiert) aufzusetzen. Dies mit den harmonischen und kraftvollen Einzelkomponenten «powered & built by dÄHLer» bis hin zum Komplettfahrzeug als «dÄHLer competition line».
Die aufwändig abgestimmten Leistungssteigerungen «powered by dÄHLer» zum Beispiel sind einmalig und genügen höchsten Anforderungen hinsichtlich Leistung, Drehmoment, Langlebigkeit (Standfestigkeit) und selbstverständlich auch bezüglich Umweltverträglichkeit. Ein Druck auf den Startknopf reicht aus, um die Energie und die unbändige Kraft des X4 M40i «dÄHLer competition line» spürbar zu machen. Beeindruckende Performance und ausserge- wöhnliche E zienz gehören bei allen Leistungssteigerungen «powered by dÄHLer» zum Selbst- verständnis.
Die BMW-Individualisierung aus der Schweiz für den X4 M40i als «dÄHLer competition line» umfasst unter anderem eine Leistungssteigerung auf 400 bis 430 PS, Gewindefahrwerk, Hochleis- tungsbremsanlage, Edelstahlabgasanlage, Räder/Reifen sowie eine verbesserte Aerodynamik und Optik.
Dähler Design & Technik GmbH kitzelt nicht bloss Leistung um der Leistung Willen aus der Basis (360 PS/465 Nm). Vielmehr geht es um das Zusammenspiel vieler Teile und das harmonische Ganze, das für Christoph Dähler und sein Team im Zentrum steht. Am Schluss entscheidet
die Fahrbarkeit durch die höchst individuelle Abstimmung jedes Fahrzeuges. Zudem muss das individualisierte Fahrzeug seriös und prü ar sein. Summa summarum stellt der X4 M40i «dÄHLer competition line» die bayerische Basis klar in den Schatten. Das Herzstück bildet die Leistungssteigerung, die in drei Stufen angeboten wird:
Schon Stufe 1 bringt den Reihen-6-Zylinder M TwinPower Turbo mit 2.979 ccm Hubraum auf 400 PS
(= 294 kW) und steigert das maximale Drehmoment auf 570 Newtonmeter.
Noch mehr Power verspricht Stufe 2, welche dem verbauten N55-Triebwerk zu 420 PS (= 309 kW) verhelfen. Das maximale Drehmoment liegt bei 580 Newtonmeter.
In der aktuell höchsten Ausbaustufe 3 leistet das Triebwerk 430 PS (= 316 kW). Das Drehmoment liegt nochmals höher, bei eindrücklichen 590 Nm (begrenzt). Das genügt, um den X4 M40i in 4,5 Sekunden von 0 auf 100 zu beschleunigen und eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 270 km/h zu erreichen. Für ein Fahrzeug dieser Kategorie höchst imposante Werte.
Alle Varianten erreichen mit EU-/CH-Zulassung die Euro-6-Norm und unterscheiden sich beim Emissionsverhalten nicht von der Serie.
Für eine zusätzliche und markante Steigerung der Agilität sorgt das auf das Fahrzeug sorgfältig ab- gestimmte Performance-Gewindefahrwerk «built by dÄHLer». Das sportlich-stra e (aber niemals harte!) Fahrwerk bietet eine Tieferlegung und eine in 18 Stufen einstellbare Zug- und Druckstufe (kann separat und unabhängig voneinander eingestellt werden). Zusätzlich verbaut Dähler Design & Technik GmbH die bewährte 8-Kolben-Hochleistungsbremsanlage mit 400 Millimeter grossen Bremsscheiben sowie eine Edelstahlabgasanlage – ebenfalls «built by dÄHLer». Das MID-Display- System zur Anzeige zahlreicher Zusatzinformationen rundet das Individualisierungs-Programm ab.
Optisch orientiert sich X4 M40i von Dähler Design & Technik GmbH eng an der Serie, die Aerody- namik und speziell der Anpressdruck an der Vorderachse pro tieren allerdings von einer dezenten, e zienten Frontspoiler-Lippe. Auf Wunsch montieren wir einen Heckspoiler.
Das Interieur wird auf Kundenwunsch einer entsprechenden Kur mit dem gewissen «dÄHLer- Touch» unterzogen.
Nach «powered by dÄHLer» (Leistungssteigerungen für BMW-Motoren) wird «built by dÄHLer» immer mehr zum Prinzip. Nach Performance-Gewindefahrwerk, Hochleistungsbremsanlage
und Edelstahlabgasanlage aus eigener Entwicklung und Produktion steht auch das erste Rad aus eigener Fertigung bereit: «dÄHLer CDC1». Für den X4 in den Dimensionen 9 x 20 (VA) und
10,5 x 20 (HA) oder 9 x 21 (VA) und 10,5 x 21 (HA)! «powered & built by dÄHLer» sind kein leeres Versprechen: Der Name steht für innovative Technik und präzises Handwerk auf höchstem Niveau. The impressive performance and dynamic driving behavior of the X4 (F26) are meant to be for high speed. After a short driving distance it blows ones mind, especially the top-version of the M40i. The baseline is superb as the same kind of engine already performs a brilliant job in the latest M2 coupe (N55). For example, the complex process of performance increases «powered by dÄHLer» are truly one of a kind. It suits the highest expectations with regard to power, torque value, endurance (stability) and, of course, environmental compatibility. It has been implemented with innovative and technical competence, craftsmanship as well as the proverbial attention to the detail.
Just an ordinary push on the starting button releases the mighty energy and unbridled power of the X4 M40i «dÄHLer competition line». Impressive performance and exceptional efficiency are a natural element of the enhancements «powered by dÄHLer»
Among others, the spectacular Swiss BMW individualization for the X4 M40i as «dÄHLer competition line» includes a performance increase from 400 up to 430 PS/395 up to 424 HP, a coil-over suspension system, a high performance braking unit, a stainless steel exhaust system, wheels/tires as well as a optimized aerodynamic and an appealing appearance.
But it is not just about the performance why Dähler Design & Technik GmbH improves the basis aggregates (360 PS/355 HP/465 ft-lb of torque). As a matter of fact, the main focus of Christoph Dähler and his team is the smooth interaction of many different parts as well as the harmonious totality of the entire project.
At the end, the drive ability, respectively the car’s traction, decides the individual alignment of each vehicle. The individualized vehicle has to be reliable and verifiable. Altogether the X4 M40i «dÄHLer competition line» eclipses the Bavarian original in every way. The main feature is the performance step-up, available on three different levels:
Level 1 already fires up the in-line six-cylinder M TwinPowerTurbo with 2.979 cubic capacity to 400 PS/395 HP (= 294 kW) and increases the maximum torque up to 570 ft-lb of torque.
Level 2 is even more promising: 420 PS/414 HP (= 309 kW) are supporting the installed N55 engine and provides 580 ft-lb of maximum torque.
The configuration of level 3 is currently the most powerful level. With 430 PS/424 HP (= 316 kW) it supplies an even higher, impressive 590 ft-lb of torque (restricted). That is more than enough power to push the X4 M40i from 0 to 100 in 4,5 seconds with a maximum speed of 270 km/h. These figures are very impressive for a vehicle of this category.
With the EU-/CH permission all variants accomplish the Euro-6-norm. The emission performance remains the same as the original series.
A carefully aligned performance coil-over suspension system «built by dÄHLer» provides an additional and distinctive increase in the agility of the X4. The sporty-tight (but never hard!) suspension system offers a lowering and a 18 level rebound and compression stage (each level can be adjusted separately and independently of one another). Additionally, Dähler Design & Technik GmbH mounts the proven 8-piston high performance braking system with brake discs size 400 millimeter and a stainless steel exhaust system – «built by dÄHLer» as well. The MID-display system offers plenty of additional information and completes the individualization perfectly.
The visual appearance of the X4 M40i by Dähler Design & Technik GmbH is a close reminder of the original model. The aerodynamic and especially the contact pressure of the front axle benefits from the decent, efficient front spoiler lip. A rear wing mount is available upon request.
The interior can receive a striking upgrade to add a certain «dÄHLer-Touch» at the customer’s request.
After «powered by dÄHLer» (power update for BMW aggregates), the motto «built by dÄHLer»
will become more and more the main principle. 3
Following the performance coil-over suspension system, the high-performance brake unit and the stainless steel exhaust system, all developed and produced in-house, the first wheel by our own manufacturing is now available: «dÄHLer CDC1». The dimensions for the X4 are 9 x 20 (VA) and 10,5 x 20 (HA) or 9 x 21 (VA) and 10,5 x 21 (HA)!
«powered & built by dÄHLer» is everything but a hollow promise: The name represents innovative technology and precise craft skills of the highest level.
The focus of extensive BMW individualization certainly is the perceptible and measurable performance increase.
